Assignment for « Doctors of The World » partner of the Burkinabe association « Keoogo » which aims to protect children in street situations in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.

The problem of girls in street situations, less visible than that of boys, is on the rise in Ouagadougou. The latest national census, carried out in 2017, puts the number of street children at around 9,300, of which almost 20% are girls. And the deteriorating security situation in the country is making matters worse: the 10,000 mark has been passed. © OLIVIER PAPEGNIES

Spacious and bright, the Beoogo Tienbo (hope for the future) village, created by the « Keoogo » association, is a temporary living space made up of a set of round huts. It was designed to meet the psychosocial, training and educational needs of the girls and their children by providing them with a suitable environment.
